Ballachulish & Glencoe
The villages of Ballachulish and Glencoe - less than one mile apart - are situated on the shores of Loch Leven, surrounded by some of the most beautiful and dramatic mountains in Scotland.
Ballachulish is world-famous for its former slate quarries.
Nearby Glencoe is noted for its rugged mountain scenery with almost endless hill walking and climbing opportunities. Oban (the Gateway to the Isles) and Fort William ( the Outdoor capital of the UK) are within easy reach by car.
The shop, post office, pub & bistro and Tourist Information office are all within a short walking distance from Laroch Self Catering cottage.
"This is to tell you that we had a fantastic 2-week holiday in Ballachulish and that we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage. It was very comfortable, well equipped, spic & span, centrally based for our hikes, and there was everything we needed, even a sewing kit!
Unfortunately, the weather was rather whimsical the first week and this gave us the opportunity to appreciate the warmth and cozy atmosphere of the cottage. Luckily, during the second week we had gorgeous weather and managed to do some beautiful hikes in the area.
We would like to thank you, the owner and Ms Robertson for allowing us to have a great time in the Highlands.
We will keep Taig Na Laroch in mind should we decide to come back."
Fiorenza and Gianluca - from Italy
"We found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, furnished to a high standard, and fully equipped with all the amenities one could desire. The setting in the Glencoe area of lochs and mountains is spectacular and the location is perfect for day trips to Fort William, Mallaig, Oban and Inverary. The village of Ballachulish is visitor friendly with a fine pub and a well stocked cooperative store. The games at the Shinty pitch are great fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Taigh na Laroch."
